"And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”
- Acts 4:12 ESV
I’ve been lost before.
Not the kind where you wander a little too far down the trail and find your way back by smell and memory.
I mean lost lost… the kind where the sounds are strange, the night feels longer, and your heart beats faster because you don’t know where home is anymore.
I’ve seen that same look in people.
You try to cover it up.
Keep moving.
Keep busy.
But I can smell it—fear, worry, brokenness.
Like something inside you got cracked and never quite healed right.
My human just read about that.
After seeing some Social Media post or another my human read out loud, “For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost”
- Luke 19:10.
Not to suggest.
Not to try.
Not to maybe help a little.
To save.
Only Jesus does that.
Not anyone nor anything else.
Only Jesus
I don’t understand everything, but I know this—when I was a pup, scared and alone, I didn’t need advice.
I didn’t need another lost dog telling me where to go.
I needed someone who knew the way home.
I needed to be found.
And I may just be a dog, but I know this—when the Good Shepherd comes looking, He doesn’t stop until He finds you.
He doesn’t wrinkle His nose at the mess.
Doesn’t turn away from the mud.
He steps right into it.
Calls your name like you still matter—like you always did.
And when you hear Him… something changes.
Your tail—well, your heart—starts to lift again.
And I’ve seen broken.
Not just scraped knees or tired bones, but hearts that ache deep down where no bandage can reach.
Folks carrying things they can’t fix.
Regret.
Grief.
Shame.
The kind of hurt that makes you go quiet.
But Jesus?
He’s not afraid of broken things.
Then my human read out loud where the Scripture says, “He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds”
- Psalm 147:3.
I don’t fully understand how He does it… but I’ve seen it.
The way He sits close.
The way His presence settles the storm inside you.
The way hope sneaks back in, slow and steady.
Only Jesus does that.
Not time.
Not distractions.
Not trying harder.
Not anyone nor anything else.
Only Jesus.
I’ve learned something lying at my human’s feet:
You don’t have to find your way home on your own.
You don’t have to fix what’s shattered before you come.
You just have to hear His voice… and come when He calls.
Because He’s still seeking.
Still saving.
Still healing.
Not anyone nor anything else
Only Jesus
And if a simple old dog like me can recognize my Master’s voice and run to Him… well, maybe you can too.
I think He might be calling now.
Keep the Faith… Carpe Diem
