My human says we’re fast approaching Easter.
That means we’re about to walk some holy ground.
We’ll talk about the parade into Jerusalem—the triumphal entry.
We’ll step inside the temple where tables were turned.
We’ll sit at the table for the Last Supper.
And we’ll walk out into Gethsemane where prayers fell like drops of blood.
Then comes the hard part.
Judas’ kiss.
The arrest.
Peter’s denial.
The rooster’s early-morning sermon.
The shouting—“Crucify Him!”
The cross.
The death.
And after the sorrow…
The empty tomb.
The angel’s announcement.
The “He’s not here. He has risen!”
Now this old dog has been wondering something.
Why?
Why didn’t Jesus stop it?
Why not call down the angel warriors and end the whole mess?
If I were in charge, I’d have barked once and wrapped things up.
But He stayed.
He endured it.
He chose the cross—for a time.
And I think I know why.
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son…”
—John 3:16
He did it for you.
Because we miss the mark sometimes.
Alright… a lot of times.
I’ve chased cats I shouldn’t and tracked mud across a clean floor.
And the Bible says, “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” —Romans 3:23
So God made a way back.
My human says accepting that gift is as simple as ABC.
A – Acknowledge.
Admit you’ve missed the mark.
B – Believe.
Not just a head nod—real trust.
Like when my human says “Come” and I go because I know his voice.
“Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved.” —Acts 16:31
C – Confess.
“If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart… you will be saved.”
— Romans 10:9
Confessing means handing Him the leash.
Letting Him lead.
And that’s something even an old lazy dog can understand.
Keep the Faith… Carpe Diem
