Old Lazy Dog brings a different view of faith, life, and the struggles we face in the marketplace and our day to day lives…while we strive to go deeper in our faith walk, put our faith to work, and see God at work around us on a daily basis.

Sharing Faith: A Dog's Perspective

Sharing Faith: A Dog's Perspective

He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.”
- Mark 16:15 NIV

I noticed something on our walk this morning.

When I find something good… I want everybody to know about it.

If I discover a stick that’s just right—good weight, good grip, good chew—I don’t keep it secret.
I parade around with it.
Tail high.
Head proud.
Sometimes I even bring it right to my human like I discovered buried treasure.

Same thing if I find a sunny patch of grass.

Or a mud puddle.

Or—on rare and glorious occasions—a dropped hotdog.

Good things are meant to be shared. That’s just obvious dog theology.

My human says that’s a little like faith.

When you really know Jesus… you don’t keep that tucked away like a bone buried under the porch.

You talk about Him.

Not in a pushy way.
Not in a bark-in-your-face way.

Just the way a dog shares joy—naturally.

A wagging tail.
A happy trot.
A quiet confidence that something good has been found.

The Bible puts it like this:

“Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have.” —1 Peter 3:15

Notice it says when they ask.

That means people notice something first.

They see the hope.
They see the joy.
They see the peace.

And eventually somebody says, “What’s different about you?

That’s when we get to say,
Well… let me tell you about my Jesus.

Not because we’re trying to win an argument.
Not because we’re trying to prove we’re right.

But because we found something good.

Better than a stick.
Better than a sunny yard.
Better even than a dropped hotdog.

We found grace… and hope.

And once you’ve tasted grace… well… it’s hard not to wag about it.

That’s what sharing faith really is.

One beggar telling another where the food is.

Or if you prefer the dog version—

One mutt telling another where the good water bowl is.

Turns out the bowl never runs dry.

And that’s good news worth passing along.

Even if you’re just an old lazy dog.

Keep the Faith… Carpe Diem
