Persia: A Dog's Perspective

Persia: A Dog's Perspective

I may just be an old dog, but I’ve been watching and listening.

Seems like everywhere my human goes folks are talking about Iran… about missiles and responses and whether it was an attack or a provoked response.

Humans do a lot of talking and worrying when the world starts rumbling. And the big question floating around right now is this:

Is Jesus coming back?

Now I don’t much. But I have laid at my human’s feet long enough to know what the Bible says.

Yes.

He’s coming back.

At some point.

We just don’t know when.

My human read where Jesus said in Matthew 24:36 that no one knows the day or the hour. Not the angels. Not even the Son in that moment. Just the Father.

So when I hear folks wondering like they are wondering… I just tilt my head and wonder why they haven’t read the whole verse.

But here’s what Jesus did say. Over in Luke 21:28 NLV, He said, “So when all these things begin to happen, stand and look up, for your salvation is near!

Look up.

Not freak out.
Not stockpile food and toilet paper.
Not argue on the internet.

Look up.

Now I’ve also heard my human read from Ezekiel 38 where it mentions “Persia.” And most folks who study such things say that’s modern-day Iran. It speaks of a future coalition coming against Israel.

So when tensions flare over there, I don’t start howling at the moon—but I do perk up my ears.

Because Jesus told us to watch.

Not set dates.
Not panic.
Watch.

When it begins to storm…
I don’t zoom around the house.
I don’t grab at the wheel of the car.
I stay close to my human.
If he’s calm, I’m calm.
If he says, “It’s alright, buddy,” then it’s alright.

That’s faith.

The world may shake.
Nations may rattle.
Headlines may bark louder than a junkyard dog.
But Jesus is still on the throne.
And when He stands up to return, it won’t be because the news cycle told Him to.
It’ll be because the Father said, “Son, go get My children.

So what’s the right response when we see things boiling up in places like Iran?

Prayer.

Not panic—prayer.

Faith.

Not fear—faith.

And urgency.

Because if Jesus is coming back—and at some point He is—there are still folks who don’t know Him.

And need to.

Only Christ gives real peace.
Not treaties.
Not alliances.
Not retaliation.
Real peace.
Jesus peace

I’ve noticed something else about humans.
When fireworks go off, some of you all duck and hide.
Me?
I run to my master’s feet.
That’s where safety is.

Maybe that’s the lesson.

When the world gets loud…
When prophecy feels closer than is comfortable…
When Persia is in the headlines…

Look up.

Stay close.

And make sure everybody you love knows Jesus before the trumpet sounds.

Because one of these days, that eastern sky is gonna break open.
And when it does, I don’t want to be wandering in the yard.

I want to be right at His feet.

Looking up…

Keep the Faith… Carpe Diem
