Old Lazy Dog brings a different view of faith, life, and the struggles we face in the marketplace and our day to day lives…while we strive to go deeper in our faith walk, put our faith to work, and see God at work around us on a daily basis.

Thomas said to him, “Lord, we don’t know where you are going, so how can we know the way?”

Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you really know me, you will know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him.” - John 15:5-7 NIV

I read this the other day and wanted to share. It’s a snippet from attorney and writer Lee Strobel sharing how Jesus became real for him.

"I didn't become a Christian because God promised I would have an even happier life than I had as an atheist. He never promised any such thing. Indeed, following him would inevitably bring divine demotions in the eyes of the world.
Rather, I became a Christian because the evidence was so compelling that Jesus really is the one-and-only Son of God who proved his divinity by rising from the dead. That meant following him was the most rational and logical step I could possibly take." Lee Strobel

For some, it’s a logical understanding that Jesus is who He said He is. For some it’s an unexplainable drawing to Him and a clarity that Jesus is the Son of God, and gives hope and grace and forgiveness through what He endured on the cross.

For me, it was a bit different. In a coach’s office at the University of Southern Mississippi. A moment in time when I came to the realization that Jesus was real and wanted a relationship with me, and I needed a relationship with Him.

Everyone’s story is different. For all it’s a realization that Jesus is the way, and the truth and the life, and came to live and die and live again so that we might have life, the everlasting life, and live it abundantly.

Keep the Faith... Carpe Diem
