Go...
“Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.””

This passage had special meaning for my family and me 10 years ago when we were preparing for a mission trip we to the Alsace Region of Northeast France. That was our opportunity as a family to “go therefore and make disciples of all nations....”
And it’s continued to have special meaning over the years as SG, Abbie and Ellie all have gone “therefore” on individual mission trip opportunities inside or outside the boundaries of our country…
However, Jesus’ lesson in this passage is greater than even those kinds of opportunities. The bigger lesson and challenge is for us (you and me) to “go therefore…” wherever we may find ourselves.
Going therefore may mean...
Going therefore next door
Going therefore down the street or around the block
Going therefore to the next cubicle
Going therefore to the locker room, practice court or field
Going therefore to the next dorm room or fraternity/sorority room
Going therefore to the next locker or hallway
Going therefore to the lunchroom or cafeteria
Going therefore to the local restaurant for breakfast or lunch
Going therefore to the local gym
Going therefore to the coffee shop down the street
Going therefore to the next town
Going therefore to somewhere in town
Going therefore to somewhere out of town, out of state or out of country
Going therefore to where ever He may send us... when ever He may send us
The main question is this:
Are we willing to answer the call Jesus made to His disciples in today’s passage to “go therefore?”
A call that, if we are a Believer and Follower of Jesus Christ, is our call as well…
Disciples of Jesus are called every moment of every day to “go therefore.”
To where are you being called?
