Who Is This?

Who Is This?

Glory view.jpg

Every now and then, I will get a phone call or a text message from someone who acts like they know me or that I should some how know them. In the beginning of the message or conversation, they fail to let me know who they are. Choosing to go straight into the conversation or message, until I have to stop them and ask...

“Who is this?”

Today, let’s be reminded of who He is... “Who is He, this King of glory?”

O Lord, like Charlie Hall sings in the early worship song “Give Us Cleans Hands”, “Give us clean hands. Give us pure hearts. Let us not lift our soul to another. God let us be a generation that seeks. That seeks your face, O God of Jacob”

And then help us answer the question of who you are, much like we ask and find in Third Day’s worship song “King of Glory”:

"Who is this King of Glory that pursues me with his love
And haunts me with each hearing of His softly spoken words
My conscience, a reminder of forgiveness that I need
Who is this King of Glory who offers it to me

Who is this King of angels, O blessed Prince of Peace
Revealing things of Heaven and all its mysteries
My spirit¹s ever longing for His grace in which to stand
Who is this King of glory, Son of God and son of man

His name is Jesus, precious Jesus
The Lord Almighty, the King of my heart
The King of glory"

O Lord, let us be reminded of who You are... and who we are and who we need to be.

“The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it,
the world, and all who live in it;
for he founded it on the seas
and established it on the waters.
Who may ascend the mountain of the Lord?
Who may stand in his holy place?
The one who has clean hands and a pure heart,
who does not trust in an idol
or swear by a false god.
They will receive blessing from the Lord
and vindication from God their Savior.
Such is the generation of those who seek him,
who seek your face, God of Jacob.
Lift up your heads, you gates;
be lifted up, you ancient doors,
that the King of glory may come in.
Who is this King of glory?
The Lord strong and mighty,
the Lord mighty in battle.
Lift up your heads, you gates;
lift them up, you ancient doors,
that the King of glory may come in.
Who is he, this King of glory?
The Lord Almighty—
he is the King of glory.”
- Psalm 24 NIV
