Old Lazy Dog brings a different view of faith, life, and the struggles we face in the marketplace and our day to day lives…while we strive to go deeper in our faith walk, put our faith to work, and see God at work around us on a daily basis.

“Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
This I declare about the Lord: He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; he is my God, and I trust him.” - Psalm 91:1-2 NLT

What is it that we declare about the Lord?

Do we, like David, declare that “He alone is my refuge, my place of safety”?

Do we declare that “He is my God, and I trust him”?

We may say those statements in our minds, say them in our heart of hearts, even say them out loud for all to hear, but do our actions match our declarations?

If I say that I trust in the Lord, but my life is riddled with worry (non-medically related worry), what does that declare about my faith in Jesus.

When we make a declaration on how much we thank God for the gifts, for the talents, for the victories then begin pounding our chests, as if to say, “Look at me. Look what I have accomplished. Look what I have done,” what does that declare about me and my God?

I’m not saying that we shouldn’t publicly make our declarations. I just think maybe we need to follow those declarations up with actions that point back to the Most High.

Live what you say you believe.
