“Hearing that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees, the Pharisees got together. One of them, an expert in the law, tested him with this question: “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?”
Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”” - Matthew 22:34-40 NIV

So often in life, we can find ourselves reaching out to God in hopes that He will guide and direct us one way or another. It be a major life decision, moment by moment choices or even day to day operations of a company or business. We may find ourselves calling out to God to show us the way, to guide us, lead us... or even to bless our mess.

All we want is a Word from God, a sign, a direction, something...

We may even find ourselves searching the Scriptures for answers (a great way to find them, by the way). And we stumble across statements like, “My grace is sufficient” or “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your paths.”And we wonder what that means and if that is our answer.

Then, we may come across a passage like the one for today. A command that reminds us to Love and Love. To the Love the Lord with all that we are and to love our neighbor as ourselves.

A reminder to put love into action. A reminder to let our love be seen and known.

Sometimes we realize that that’s the direction that we’ve needed. The guidance that we’ve been searching for. Sometimes we realize that love really is the answer and has been all along.

Sometimes our search for answers and expectations of what that answer could and should be are different than the answers we actually find.

Today... Let's praise Him for unexpected answers and different directions. Let’s praise Him and thank Him for unanswered prayers. And let’s praise Him for the reminder and command to love and love.

Today... Let's praise and worship the One who is worthy of our praise... the One who answers prayers so often without a word being said (or said again..)

Today... Let's praise the One who lived and died and lived again so that we may have life and live it abundantly.

Keep the Faith... Carpe Diem
