“Let love and faithfulness never leave you;
bind them around your neck,
write them on the tablet of your heart.
Then you will win favor and a good name
in the sight of God and man.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight.
Do not be wise in your own eyes;
fear the Lord and shun evil.
This will bring health to your body
and nourishment to your bones.” - Proverbs 3:3-8 NIV

Many of us are familiar with Proverbs 3:5-6 that speaks pf trusting in the Lord with all our heart.

However, if we begin there and end there we miss other nuggets of wisdom that compliment those two verses.

We miss... “Let love and faithfulness never leave you. Bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart.”

What great imagery of how we should then live so that others will see God in us and God knowing what is written on our heart.

Then the Word goes into trusting the Lord with all our heart and leaning not on our own understanding, if we acknowledge and submit to Him, God will direct our paths.

Yet, if we stop there...

We miss... “Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and shun evil. This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones.”

Love. Trust in the Lord. Fear the Lord with a healthy fear, as in respect and honor with a deep awe of who He is.

Great pearls of wisdom given to us... Don’t miss it.

Keep the Faith... Carpe Diem
