Old Lazy Dog brings a different view of faith, life, and the struggles we face in the marketplace and our day to day lives…while we strive to go deeper in our faith walk, put our faith to work, and see God at work around us on a daily basis.

Anyway

Anyway

“Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.”
- Hebrews 11:1 NIV

Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise—the fruit of lips that openly profess his name”
- Hebrews 13:15 NIV

It’s funny to me how when you start thinking about faith, trust and praising God, even (or especially) in the midst of the junk of life, you start seeing things that remind you about them everywhere.

Some reminders to me are today’s passages from Hebrews about faith and offering the sacrifice of praise. Two verses within passages that spoke directly to me… reminding me to trust Him anyway, to praise Him anyway - even when I don't know what to say, even when I don’t “feel” like it, even when I’m angry or frustrated or disappointed.

Then I saw this quote from my friend Dean Register. A reminder of why we continue to trust and ultimately offer that sacrifice of praise.

Abraham struggled to wait on God, but he trusted anyway. Joseph lived with undeserved wounds of abuse and injustice, but He trusted God anyway. Mary faced a seemingly impossible pregnancy, but she trusted God anyway. What we do with our “anyway”moments makes a strategic difference between victory or defeat.”
Pastor Dean Register

All of these Bible heroes reminding us to trust and praise the Lord “anyway.”

Even when...
... We don't feel like it
Even when…
... We feel the enemy bearing down on us
Even when…
... We feel a million miles away
Even when…
... Our prayers don't seem to be going any further than the ceiling
Even when…
... Our stress seems to out weigh our praise

Trust and Praise Him anyway...
Trust and Praise Him through it...
Trust and Praise Him in the midst of whatever you may be dealing with.

Keep the Faith… Carpe Diem
